Social Presence in Virtual Event Spaces
This virtual seminar series gather together geographically-dispersed researchers from disparate institutions and backgrounds to collaborate on research around social presence in online event spaces. The goal is to bring together researchers and developers from academia and industry with a shared interest in improving the experience of virtual events, exchange insights, and energize an ongoing community effort in this area.
The spring seminar (from Feb 7 to April 25, 2020) took place weekly, on Mondays from 11am-1pm ET, with each hour-long talk followed by an hour for informal discussion in free-form groups. Add your email to our mailing list by filling out the form below.
A workshop on the same topic will be held on May 1, 2022, colocated with CHI 2022 (talk proposal deadline: February 25).
New! All past talks’ recordings are available here.
Stay tuned for future programming!
